I'm a student and practitioner of the contemporary Hellenistic revival which had its genesis at Project Hindsight in 1993. My primary teacher in both astrology and astrological magic is Austin Coppock. My experience with and proficiency in astrological magic has been greatly expedited by the works and teaching of Kaitlin Coppock, whose labors have democratized access to celestial powers in a way that I believe is historically unprecedented.

I also have begun incorporating the techniques and philosophical framing from the medieval Islamicate tradition via Dr. Ali A Olomi, which I believe provides a crucial contextualization of the larger astrological tradition from ancient Babylonia through the medieval era outside of the paradigm of Christian hegemony.

technical considerations

zodiac, techniques, planets

Zodiac and house system: I use the tropical zodiac and whole sign houses.

Planets and other bodies: I primarily focus on the 7 traditional planets, fixed stars, and lots in my readings. I will keep track of the outer planets and include them in my interpretations in particular circumstances. I’m not well versed in asteroids or centaurs and do not look at them in charts.

Techniques: I layer multiple timing techniques to evaluate the currents and arcs coursing through this moment (and the previous one, and the next). Depending on the question at hand and the context, this may include transits, solar returns, annual profections, planetary decades and/or zodiacal releasing. Additionally, I compare this to activations by parantellonta with fixed stars. I don’t work with firdariyyah, primary directions, or secondary progressions at this point in my practice. Additionally, I don’t offer horary or electional services at this time.

Synastry: I request that all parties be present for any reading which will consider multiple charts to ensure ongoing consent; please email me in regards to any extenuating circumstances.

Remediation: I’m happy to give considered, low-risk magical and mundane strategies to help ameliorate, clarify, or neutralize difficult placements or transits and amplify the bounty of positive ones. These techniques have been handed down to me by my teacher, Austin Coppock, who is one of the few astrologers who offers a widely well-regarded framework utilizing practices from the “western” occult tradition. However, the Vedic lineage that he as studied with—via the Rath family through Freedom Cole—has a far more nuanced approach that has been optimized over hundreds of years. For certain chart configurations or more rigorous prescriptions and remedies based on your chart, I highly recommend the services of my friend and colleague Adira Osland, who has also studied with both Austin and Freedom.

• Birth time accuracy and access: Depending on your chart, major things can shift with even a 2 or 3 minute difference in birth time! Depending on birth time source and rounding, we may need to spend some time ensuring that your given birth time makes sense. I typically do this using some timing techniques, so it can be helpful to look at the dates of major life events ahead of our session. I can’t offer formal rectification at this time, but I do have some tricks up my sleeve for reading charts without any birth time whatsoever—please email me ahead of time so that we can make sure that I can meet your needs and expectations.

• Our time together is for you. Let me know if you don’t want to talk about a particular topic or if something feels really off base! People are endlessly complex and, by design, astrological components must be able to describe many possible outcomes at once. Some of the techniques I use have been revived very recently after hundreds of years of disuse. Your feedback will help improve your reading, my skills, and the field as a whole.

• Take what works and leave the rest—if something doesn’t resonate, it may be that it is something that hasn’t unfolded for you yet, is mitigated by something I’m not seeing, or you’re not quite ready to hear yet! This is the beauty of having a recording of the session—you’ll have all the time in the world to come back and see what resonates as you go forward.

• What astrology is not: it should go without saying, but a consultation with an astrologer can’t replace mental health counseling, advice from a medical professional, or legal advice from a lawyer. I’m also not a member of the clergy in any spiritual tradition. I do my best to give sound, spiritually aware advice based on well-reasoned application of techniques well-regarded within the astrological and occult traditions that I’ve studied, your own discernment (and/or divination) as well as the counsel of other experts in your life should always be consulted should any uncertainty around recommendations I give you arise.

• Rescheduling and Cancellations: Please use my Acuity page to cancel or reschedule your reading as needed up to 24 hours ahead of time, after which I will begin preparing for our time together. If something comes up last-minute please email me.

• At the time of our appointment, I consider anything longer than 15 minutes without any contact a no-show. I can offer a discounted rate for re-booking but no refunds.
